      Short version: Imprompt U is a speaking practice app. Use it lawfully, keep your account secure, and manage paid subscriptions through the platform where you bought them.
    

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using Imprompt U ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

Imprompt U is an AI-powered speaking practice application. It provides speech challenges, real-time transcription, AI-generated feedback, and a gamified progression system designed to help users improve impromptu speaking skills.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use the app.
You may create an account using email/password or a supported third-party provider such as Google or Apple.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Imprompt U offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions may be offered through the web, Apple App Store, or Google Play, depending on the platform you use.

Web purchases: Web subscriptions are processed by Stripe and automatically renew until cancelled.
iOS purchases: Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store are billed and managed by Apple, renew automatically unless cancelled, and must be cancelled through your Apple account subscription settings. Refund requests for App Store purchases must be submitted to Apple.
Android purchases: Subscriptions purchased through Google Play are billed and managed by Google, renew automatically unless cancelled, and must be cancelled through your Google Play subscription settings.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise stated. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods except where required by law or the applicable app marketplace terms.

For apps downloaded through the Apple App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.

5. AI-Generated Content

Feedback provided by the app is generated with third-party AI and speech services, including Google Gemini and speech transcription providers. The feedback is for educational purposes only and does not constitute professional, medical, legal, or employment advice.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the app. This includes attempting to reverse-engineer the service, interfere with its operation, bypass payment or access controls, use it for unlawful purposes, or upload content that infringes the rights of others.

7. Intellectual Property

All software, branding, content, and app materials are owned by or licensed to Imprompt U. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms.

8. Privacy

Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy: speakimpromptu.com/privacy.

9. Termination and Account Deletion

You may stop using the app at any time. You can delete your account in the app through Settings → Account → Delete Account, request deletion at speakimpromptu.com/delete-account, or contact alex@speakimpromptu.com. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the service.

10. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free performance, or that AI-generated feedback will always be accurate or suitable for your specific situation.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Imprompt U will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the app.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you through the app, by email, or by updating the effective date on this page. Continued use after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Imprompt U is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer protection laws require otherwise.
